Sara Cline Sara is junior studying Political Science in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She served the last year as president of Delta Delta Delta sorority. Next year, in addition to beginning the Civic Leadership Program, she will be serving as the president of Panhellenic Council, the group that oversees the majority of sororities on campus. She had the chance to go to DC twice in the last year for lobbying and volunteering experiences. She is excited about the privilege to be part of the CLP and excited to see what the next 2 and 1/2 years will bring.

Brady Collins Brady Collins is from Belmont, Massachusetts. He is majoring in Economics and International Studies. His focus is international trade and development but he has a passion for social work and community activism. He has spent time in Nicaragua through the Bridges to Community program where he lived in small village and built houses for the homeless. He recently interned at the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights where he helped arrange their fiscal reports, while also participating in community organizing and voter registration in immigrant communities. He is a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity as well as the Economics Club where he serves as the Events Coordinator. Brady is also a writer for the Pre-Law newspaper and hopes to attend Law school someday. Next semester he will be studying abroad in Barcelona where he will learn about the European Union and Spanish politics. He loves to travel and hopes to someday work oversees in international relations.

Elizabeth Cunningham “Lizzy” Cunningham is a junior in Political Science from Wheaton, Illinois. In 2007, she co-founded Global Medical Brigades at the University of Illinois, which is an organization that brings medical aid to Honduras. She served on the Execute Board of her sorority, Chi Omega, and enjoys participating in Alternative Spring Break. Lizzy also tutors students for pre-college standardized exams. |

Brandon Gebka Brandon Gebka is a junior majoring in political science and international studies. He is a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity, where he has served as executive secretary and currently holds the position of chapter president. Brandon has also been involved with the Interfraternity council, serving on the judicial board for two years, including one year as head juror. Brandon was a part of the LEADS leadership community that in spring of 2007 traveled to New Orleans to work with Habitat for Humanity in restoring Musicians Village. |

Kaitlyn Hastings Kaitlyn is a senior graduating with a double major in Political Science and Communications from the small town of Lena, Illinois. Kaitlyn has a wide variety of interests that range from playing club volleyball on the Illinois Women's Club Volleyball Team to mentoring incoming transfer students for the Office of Admissions and Records. Kaitlyn also is a member of and the current Alumni Chair for her sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta. She is a student senator for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in the Student Senate and sits on various committees. Her dominate interests remain in politics as she has interned for several Illinois State Representatives and worked on numerous State Representative Campaigns. She also has worked on the Rudy Giuliani Presidential Campaign. As she begins the Civic Leadership Program Kaitlyn will finish her senior thesis on the topic of Congressional War Power. |

Matthew Jenkins Matthew hails from McHenry, Illinois. Matthew is majoring in Political Science. His interest in civic leadership and public policy began early when he served as an Illinois Governmental Intern with the Illinois Death Penalty Trial Assistance Commission in Springfield while in high school and then spending a semester as a Clerk for the Illinois House of Representatives. Like Brandon, Matthew also gave of his time and his Spring Break to travel to New Orleans to help rebuild homes destroyed in Hurricane Katrina. Matthew is also a study abroad alumni of the U of I having studied abroad in Cape Town, South Africa, Fall 2007. Most recently, this past summer Matthew was a member of the Illinois in Washington Program and interned for Congressman Ray LaHood. Matthew also hopes to serve as an intern to Parliament in London, England this upcoming summer.

Nicole Kraus Nicole is a junior majoring Political Science and also working to complete her minor in History. Nicole is currently an Acquaintance Rape Education Program facilitator, an active member of her sorority, Alpha Gamma Delta, and a member of the honor societies Phi Kappa Phi and Alpha Lambda Delta. Over the summer Nicole had the opportunity to learn about a life in public service by participating in the NEW Leadership Illinois conference for women legislators. Last year Nicole participated in the Northern Trust Forum and the Cline Symposium.

Morgan McClain-McKinney Morgan is from Park Forest Illinois is a junior in Political Science with a minor in French. She is active in various campus groups including Alternative Spring Break, and she also serves as a French tutor for the Office of Minority Student Affairs. Her leadership experience also includes serving as a Resident Advisor with the University Department of Residential Life. Her academic interests include public policy, international relations, and foreign policy. She has a particular interest in African politics, but also continues to study both European and American politics as well. This past summer, she participated in the Ronald E. McNair Scholars program, where she researched local democratic governance and how it affects the African cities of Dakar, Senegal and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Morgan has a passion for politics and community service. She hopes to use the skills that she develops as a Civic Leadership Fellow to promote her goal of working in international affairs.

Pierce Vanne Pierce is from Germantown Hills, Illinois. He is a junior majoring in international studies. Pierce currently serves as a deacon at University Baptist Church and is the initiate director over seventeen men at Koinonia House on campus. He is also a Global Studies Intern in the College of LAS and leads weekly discussions with college freshman about world issues and current affairs. Pierce hopes to utilize the opportunity that the CLP presents to make a substantial contribution in civic affairs in whatever position he finds himself in the future.

Dan Weber Dan spends a great deal of his time as the newly-elected president of the Illini Speech and Debate Team and as a Senator in the Illinois Student Senate. He has a great passion for political discourse, public speaking, and critically analyzing arguments. The debate team has been a great outlet for these interests. As a member of the Student Senate he devotes his attention to addressing environmental issues on campus as and is the Senate’s Sustainability Representative. He also is working on forming a Committee on Environmental Sustainability to make conservation and campus energy policy a constant priority of our student government and the university administration. He is also Vice-Chair of the Committee on Cultural and Minority Student Affairs.
